The New York Knicks took another disappointing loss on Christmas Day, and superstar Carmelo Anthony sounded like he is losing his patience as they continue to struggle this season.

Anthony, who scored 34 points on 13-for-28 shooting in their 102-91 loss to the Washington Wizards on Thursday, said that he knows how their fans are feeling at this point.

The 30-year-old forward said that the team is "dying" and admitted that he did not expect that the Knicks will struggle big time in their first full season under team president Phil Jackson and new coach Derek Fisher.

"I feel what the fans are feeling," Anthony told ESPN New York. "The fans are dying, we're dying. We're out there, we're not producing. We didn't expect, I didn't expect to be sitting at 5-26. So as much as I feel for the fans, I feel for us going through it, too. I don't expect nobody to feel sorry for us, I don't expect nobody to feel sorry for me."

The Knicks' 5-26 card is the second-worst record in the league -- just one game ahead of the 4-23 Philadelphia 76ers. The Knicks are clearly struggling to adjust to Fisher's triangle offense as they are currently averaging just 94.0 points per game - the fourth-worst scoring output as a team in the league.

Anthony, who signed a fresh five-year deal worth $124 million with the Knicks in the offseason, said there are times that they are playing like a well-oiled machine, but their inconsistencies are killing them this season.

"We have spurts throughout the course of the game where we are showing something, showing that we're getting it and we're focused and we have the energy to go out and do it," Anthony said. "But there are times where we show that we're not even out there on the basketball court."

Team president Jackson is also aware of their fans' frustration this season, but 11-time champion coach said on Thursday that things will get better for the Knicks in 2015 as their players continue to learn to "play with and for each other."

When asked to react on Jackson's statement, a frustrated Anthony said, "2015 is in a couple of days."
