'Halo 5: Guardians' Gameplay: Special Editions Announced, Beta Version Available for The Master Chief Collection Owners, Xbox One Preview Program Subscribers
If you have Halo The Master Chief Collection or subscribe to the Xbox One Preview Program, you should now be able to play the beta version of Halo 5: Guardians.
This is a three week preview version of what the full version of Halo 5 will look like. The full version of the game will be released some time in late 2015. It could be very different from the beta, or it could be very similar. It all depends on what feedback gamers give the developers in the next coming weeks. The developers could go a whole new direction and surprise gamers with a complete different version of the game come Jan. 18, 2015, but the beta will at least will get gamers acclimated with what it could look like.
Halo makers want previewers to know that the beta is just a test and not to judge the game on how the beta looks.
Microsoft is also amping up the excitement for the game with pre-orders and two special copies of the game. If you pre-order the game, which retails for the standard $60, you will get a special poster. If you pre-order the $100 Limited Edition version of the game, you will unlock some digital goodies and get the poster and a special book.
Now, if you feel like shelling out $250 for the Halo 5: Guardians Collector's Edition, you will get everything in the Limited Edition as well as a "limited numbered statue" from 343 Industries.
If you want the special statue shell out the $250, but it seems like the best way to do this pre-order is the standard pre-order process. If you are one who loves downloadable content (DLC) and extra bonuses, the $100 Limited Edition might be for you. It's up to you. How big of a Halo fan are you?
