Real Madrid Transfer News and Rumors: Will Sami Khedira Leave Bernabeu This Summer?
Sami Khedira will be entering the final six months of his contract with Real Madrid, creating speculation that the Germany international will move to another team in the summer.
Recent reports indicated Khedira has agreed to an €18 million transfer deal to Barclays Premier League squad Arsenal. The said deal will allegedly take into effect once Khedira's contract with Real Madrid ends.
When asked about the reported transfer agreement that will send Khedira to Arsenal, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti insisted all talks about the midfielder's future are "rumors" at this point. Ancelotti expects Khedira to remain at Bernabeu at least until before his contract ends in June next year.
"He's a Real Madrid player and I treat him as such," Ancelotti said of Khedira via Marca. "I have nothing to say about rumors. He's a normal member of the squad until his contract runs out. I have no doubts about him."
Aside from Arsenal, Khedira has been linked to a move to Manchester United and Chelsea, but the 27-year-old told Stuttgarter Nachrichten he will be "very happy" if he reaches a new deal with Real Madrid despite having limited opportunities to play this season.
Khedira, who was a member of Germany national soccer team that won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil earlier this year, has only appeared in four Spanish La Liga matches for Real Madrid this season. He has been slowed down by knee and hamstring injuries but is confident he will get more opportunities to help the team in the second half of the season.

In the event Khedira decides to leave Real Madrid, ESPN FC reported Real Madrid will make a run at signing Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva. Silva has been on Real Madrid's radar over the past several months.
The Cruzeiro midfielder said he is aware of the talks between his current club and Real Madrid, and he knows anything can happen in the January transfer window and in the offseason.
"A lot has been said about me and about Real Madrid's interest," Silva said. "The market in Europe opens in January and from that point on anything could happen. What I can say is that nothing has been decided. I'm a Cruzeiro player, had a really good year and anything could still happen."
