Soccer Transfer Rumors: Real Madrid Won’t Sell Gareth Bale to Manchester United
Manchester United are reportedly making a strong push to acquire Gareth Bale this season, but Real Madrid president Florentino Perez insisted they are planning to keep the Wales international.
Recent reports indicated Manchester United are prepared to spend around 120 million pounds to get Bale, who was acquired by Real Madrid for 86 million pounds from Tottenham last year.
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal was recently asked about their interest in Bale. The first-year Red Devils coach did not confirm nor deny the rumors, saying he is not in a position to reveal their possible moves to the public because their top executives want to keep their cards in house.
When asked about the possibility of parting ways with Bale, Florentino said they have not received any offers from Manchester United like what recent reports are suggesting. And even if other teams reach out to them and offer a lucrative deal, he reiterated that Gale will stay at Bernabeu.
"We haven't received an offer from Manchester United or any other club for Gareth Bale," Perez said via ESPN FC. "We wouldn't listen to any offers for Bale, regardless of the amount."
Perez said that Bale will remain as one of the faces of their franchise along with Cristiano Ronaldo, who was also linked to a possible return to Old Trafford earlier this year.
"I cannot imagine Real Madrid without Cristiano Ronaldo, nor Gareth Bale," Perez said. "This is a unique player who has already given us a lot and is crucial to the future of the club."

Perez also denied rumors indicating that they will eventually agree to send Bale to Manchester United if the Red Devils will surrender top goalkeeper David De Gea.
According to Mirror UK, Real Madrid will test the Red Devils' resolve to acquire Bale by asking for De Gea, whom they are eyeing to replace veteran goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
"Real have identified the 24-year-old as the goalkeeper to replace long-serving veteran Iker Casillas," Simon Mullock of Mirror UK reported. "De Gea is in the process of taking over from Casillas as Spain's No 1. and it is a matter of pride at the Bernabeu that the top Spanish keeper plays for Real."
