Lukas Podolski will spend the remainder of the season at F.C. Internazionale Milano after the Italian club struck a loan agreement with Arsenal on Friday.

According to Mail Online, Podolski signed a loan deal with Inter Milan that will run until the end of the current season. Sources said Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini spent £1.5 million to acquire the 29-year-old.

Podolski, who has seen limited action with Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League this season, is playing in the final year of his contract but will likely get a new deal from Inter if he plays well in its remaining games.

Podolski, who was mobbed by Inter fans when he arrived at Milan on Friday night, said he has already talked to Mancini and is excited to make his debut in the Italian Serie A.

The Germany international added his main goal is to help Inter Milan earn a Champions League spot next season. It will be easier said than done, though, because Inter Milan is currently in 11th place in the Serie A table and has only scored one win since November.

"I spoke to Mancini and think he's a great coach. He wanted me and I'm happy to be here. I know Serie A, it's a very competitive League," Podolski said. "'I want to help the team get into the Champions League. Do I have a message for the fans? I am happy, Forza Inter and we hope to have a great season."

Podolski moved to Arsenal from Cologne in 2012 and immediately earned the respect of its fans. In his first two seasons at Emirates Stadium, Podolski tallied 19 goals and 11 assists. However, the Gleiwitz, Poland, native has been struggling this season as he has yet to score a goal in seven Premier League games.

Following the confirmation of his move to Milan, Podolski paid tribute to Arsenal fans on his official Instagram account.

"I can't express in words my gratitude towards Arsenal fans for all they have done for me in my years in London," Podolski wrote. "Please know my heart always holds a place for you. I've loved every minute playing for Arsenal & I hope I have left my mark on the club & fans alike. Hopefully we shall meet again."
