While the rest of the nation celebrated New Year's Eve 2015 with champagne toasts, noise makers and midnight kisses, Tara Reid posted a nude Instagram picture.

The Instagram photo shows the 39-year-old actress lying in a hammock and smiling with strategically placed hands to cover her lady parts. She captioned the picture, "Happy New Year."

The "Sharknado 3" actress wasn't always smiling when it came to revealing her body. The world became aware of Reid's flubbed plastic surgery in 2004 when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction on the red carpet at Diddy's 35th birthday bash in New York City. Reid was preening for photographers when a strap on her gown fell to reveal her left breast and its awful post-surgery scar.

"I had body contouring, but it all went wrong," she said on "The View." "My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing."

Since the "American Pie" star had reconstructive surgery to repair her breasts and abdomen in 2006, she is feeling confident about the way she looks. She has recently flooded her Instagram page with photos of herself wearing a bikini while on vacation in Tulum, Mexico with a mystery man.

"My amazing boyfriend who I adore," Reid captioned one snapshot. "Thank you for making my New Years. You are wonderful." Reid doesn't reveal the name of the man who accompanied her on the vacation, but she posed for many photos with him.

Best known for her role as high school sweetheart Vicky in "American Pie," Reid is now entirely focused on her "Sharknado" series of films, which reinvigorated her career and inspired the former party girl to become an entrepreneur. After the success of "Sharknado 2," the actress launched her perfume, Shark by Tara.

Reid stars in the upcoming "Sharknado 3," which IMDB reports will take a "bite out of the East Coast when the sharknado hits Washington, D.C., and Orlando, Florida." The show airs on Syfy in July 2015.
