Madden 15 Player Ratings & Playoff Roster Update on Xbox One, PS4: OVR Comparisons in the Postseason
The NFL Playoffs are headed to the Divisional round, and the matchups are set. Let's take a look at how Madden NFL 15 could help predict the eventual champion.
Back in August, Adam Rank of NFL.com posted his Madden 15 predictions. The year prior he correctly predicted the Seattle Seahawks to win the Super Bowl. This year he picked the New England Patriots to beat the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. Will he be right?
Rank chose the Chicago Bears to win the NFC North and said that the Jacksonville Jaguars would make the playoffs. Neither team made the playoffs. This is not a very good way to predict the season's outcome.
Rank does have the Denver Broncos and Patriots correctly placed in the playoffs as division champs. It seems surprising he does not have the Broncos in the Super Bowl, but the Seahawks could be a good pick.
Manning ended the season with a 97 overall rating. Madden 15 has not released a player ranking update since Week 16 though. In Week 17, Manning did not throw any touchdowns but also did not throw any interceptions. Manning faces the Indianapolis Colts in a tough matchup at home. We will see if he deserves a 99 rating or if he should be further lowered.
Russell Wilson has been a serviceable quarterback all year. He led his team to a 12-4 record, but he did so with less-than-impressive stats. In fact, he only threw the ball 452 times. Compare that to Manning's 597 passes. Madden 15 rates him at just an 88 overall ranked player, and that is probably because most of Seattle's success has been based on their run game and their defense.
Marshawn Lynch is Seattle's running threat. This year he has accumulated over 1,300 yards rushing and scored a career-high 13 touchdowns. Madden 15 rates him as a 95 overall ranked player. He is nearly impossible to take down sometimes and he deserves this rating.
With Lynch, Wilson and a great defense, the Seahawks could make it to the NFC Championship, but they will not win that game. Look for Dallas or Green Bay to take the NFC.
