"Mortal Kombat X" is getting Kung Lao back. This was the guy with the razor-rimmed hat from some of the older, classic "Mortal Kombat" games.

The news was first released by GamesMaster Magazine, a U.K. publication. They were supposed to have the exclusive reveal of Kung Lao, but it was leaked on the Internet by some eager gamers and a Finnish magazine.

Kung Lao first appeared in "Mortal Kombat II" and was also in 2011's "Mortal Kombat." He apparently died in "Mortal Kombat: Armageddon" (or did he?), so it will be interesting to see how he comes back to life in "Mortal Kombat X."

Seeing Kung Lao in "Mortal Kombat X" might make gamers eager. In "Mortal Kombat X," characters will get three distinct styles of fighting and Kung Lao will be able to use the "Hat Trick" style of fighting to throw his sharp hat at his opponents.

The other two styles of fighting that Kung Lao will have are Buzz Saw and Tempest.

Kung Lao's hat might be a little different than previous games. The blades on it could be shaped differently, according to a gamer's forum. As the release of the game gets closer (April 15), we will likely see many more demos released and get a good view of Kung Lao's return.

Another development to come from the upcoming fighter is the way online play will work for the game. A Factions Mode will allow online gamers to choose one of five online "factions." These factions will allow them access to different characters. Winning matches in Factions Mode will give points to their faction.

Characters already confirmed for "Mortal Kombat X" include Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kano and more. Stay tuned to Latin Post for more "Mortal Kombat X" news.
