Far Cry 4 Gameplay Encounters Errors, Is Unable to Load on Microsoft Xbox One
Errors caused some gamers to lose access to Far Cry 4 on Xbox One Monday. The error affected those who had the digital copy of the game and appears to have been solved by Tuesday.
Gamespot reports the error involved gamers trying to load up Far Cry 4 on Xbox One by clicking My Games. A message would pop up saying that the game had an error.
Even if gamers tried to delete and reinstall Far Cry 4, they were given another error message, and then a dialog box would ask the gamer if they had purchased the game or not.
In a strange turn of events, in addition to those who already had purchased a digital copy of Far Cry 4 not being able to play the game, the game was also taken down from the Xbox Marketplace for reasons unknown. This meant that only those who had a hard copy of the game could play the game for a brief period of time.
Xbox One originally wanted to have an always-on Internet connection so games could be constantly updated. This could be a reason why some gamers were not able to access Far Cry 4's digital version.
"If the game was purchased in digital form and the owner is unable or unwilling to enable sharing, the owner has to be signed in and connected to Xbox Live for that game to be played," Xbox's support page says about digital games:
The errors appear to have been resolved, and complaints about access have gone down on a forum post on Far Cry 4.
While this small shake-up should not tarnish the game's reputation too much, what can gamers expect in Far Cry 5?
If games get their wish, it looks like the next installment of the game could have vampires or even dinosaurs. That's according to a recent poll sent out to gamers asking what they may or may not want if a Far Cry 5 is released.
