Apple fans are already excited about the new series of MacBook Pros heading to stores soon, but will 4G LTE be part of the laptop's new features?

Reports have been swirling over the past weeks that Apple will finally pull the cover on its new series of devices. After failing to announce a new set of tablets and computers to the public at its keynote event last September, experts say that Apple will be hosting another event this month for its other gadgets.

As a matter of fact, the Cupertino-based tech giant has already sent out invitations to an Oct. 22 press event where the new iPad, iPad Mini, Mac Pro and MacBook Pros will likely be revealed. However, the big question remains: What features will Apple be adding to its devices, specifically the MacBook Pro?

The 2013 MacBook Air has already been revealed earlier this year, packed with a new Intel Haswell processor and a Retina display. Following this, the Pro is expected to arrive with the same processor and a better display with Sharp IGZO. While this sounds like good news, many are still hoping that Apple will go all-in and introduce a laptop that is 4G LTE capable.

According to a report by Gotta Be Mobile, a 4G LTE-powered notebook "could deliver the mobile connectivity and portability that consumers and power users need from a modern notebook." Moreover, several Windows laptops - the HP EliteBook Revolve and Lenovo ThinkPad T440S - have already packed this feature, and Apple could certainly get the niche going with its own version.

Notably, in 2012, PatentlyApple.com reported that a MacBook Pro LTE was already patented for Apple. Should the company decide to push through with this innovation, now could be a good time with the growing spread of LTE signals and the importance of mobile internet browsing.
