It's a big week for Latin sensation Marc Anthony. 

TMZ is reporting that Anthony has signed up the be a celebrity mentor on "X Factor."

According to TMZ, Anthony recently inked a deal with the FOX talent show to join the cast as a mentor for Simon Cowell's group of music hopefuls. Cowell and Anthony has been friends for years. 

The Grammy winning singer will reportedly join Justin Beiber and Nick Jonas as celebrity judges.

Anthony is a two-time Grammy and three-time Latin-Grammy winner and has sold more than 12 million albums worldwide.

Anthony's ex-wife Jennifer Lopez ecently stepped down as a judge on American idol, citing a busy schedule. 

The X Factor premiers on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m on Fox.

Last week, the Democratic National Convention Press Office announced that Anthony will be joining a line-up of musical acts which includes Foo Fighters, Mary J. Blige, James Taylor, and Earth, Wind and Fire at the convention. 

The Puerto Rican singer will be singing the national anthem will take center stage on Thursday, Sept. 6 at the Bank America Stadium. 

"This roster of performances only adds to the excitement building in Charlotte for the historic week ahead of us," Los Angeles Mayor and 2012 Democratic National Convention Chair, Antonio Villaraigosa said. "The tens of thousands who will attend Convention events in person, and all those tuning in across the country, should be ready for quite a show."
