Madden 15 Player Ratings, Ultimate Team, & Playoff Roster Update on Xbox One, PS4: Divisional Round Matchups
"Madden NFL 15" can do a pretty good job at predicting the outcome of NFL Football, but the players still have to play the games this weekend. Let's take a look at how things could go down in the Divisional Round.
The Dallas Cowboys had a hard-fought win over the Detroit Lions and will now travel to chilly Green Bay to take on the Green Bay Packers. This could be the game of the week in the NFL.
Here's why Dallas could win: DeMarco Murray is a 97 overall at running back. The Packers rush defense ended the 2014 season at 23rd in the NFL, giving up 119.9 yards per game and a 4.3 yard average per carry. Murray averaged 4.7 yards per carry but was also the NFL's leading rusher with 1,845 yards. If the Packers cannot stop him, they could be destined for a loss.
Here's why Green Bay could win: The Packers offense is finally balanced. According to ESPN's stats, they were the 6th-ranked team in terms of total offense. They averaged 386.1 yards per game this regular season and 119.8 of those yards per game came from running the ball. Aaron Rodgers (98 overall) is still hobbled with a calf injury, but if the Packers can mix the run with pass, they could win this one.
Prediction: 24-14 Green Bay over Dallas. The weather will play a factor on the ball coming out of both Rodgers and Tony Romo's hand, and getting traction could be hard on a cold mix of grass and fibers, expect a lower scoring game than normal between these two teams.
The Indianapolis Colts take on the Denver Broncos in what could be a very good game.
Here's why the Broncos win: Peyton Manning (97 overall) throws for several touchdowns, controls the clock and makes all the right throws. If he does this, there's no reason why the Broncos can't put up at least 28 points.
Here's why the Colts win: Manning is off his game. The Colts pick him off at least once and Andrew Luck (92 overall) takes control of the game. The Colts also have a very capable runner in Daniel Herron (77 overall).
Prediction: 31-24 Denver over Indy.
Would you rather just play Madden with a cast of all-stars? The Madden Ultimate Team gives you that chance. Recently, Bo Jackson was added to the Ultimate Team roster.
Jackson had a short NFL career but he was a great runner who was named The Greatest Athlete of All Time by ESPN. Madden rates him at 99 speed and 92 awareness. When he was in the NFL, he averaged 5.5 yards per carry. Add him to your Ultimate Team and be prepared to get some big runs.
