Nexus 5 Release Date, Price, Specs Rumors: Google Leaks Photos on Play Store, $349 for 16GB Model [PIC]
It seems Google has accidentally leaked its own phone on the Google Play store ahead of the Nexus 5 release that was supposed to be several weeks away.
The phone has since been pulled down from the site, but when it was up it said that the price would be $349 for the 16 GB phone.
"Capture the everyday and the epic in fresh new ways," read the description accidentally posted by Google.
Once the phone is finally on sale, the dedicated Nexus fans would be able to replace the Nexus 4, which fared very well. Some of the improvements found on the photos that were briefly posted included the replacement of the Android SMS app as well as a redesigned Gmail icon.
According to the LA Times, the makers of the phone have had a difficult time keeping it a secret. More and more people seem to be getting the first peeks that were supposed to be unveiled at a later date.
"The Federal Communications Commission approved and posted images many believe are of the Nexus 5," the LA Times said. "Someone also left a Nexus 5 at a bar and a video of it was quickly filmed and posted on YouTube. And just this week, what appears to be official press images of the Nexus 5 were leaked from Canadian carrier Telus."
The LA Times also suggested that the phone would most likely be rolled out on Oct. 28, just in time for users to start snapping photos of their Halloween costumes.
