New Netflix Movies and TV Shows 2015: What New Releases Are Coming to Netflix Soon?
One of the most anticipated events for owners of Netflix subscriptions are the days when the company that runs the mega streaming and rental service begins to offer new content to its user base.
The new year brings a host of brand new movies and TV shows for Netflix lovers to watch. While not everyone will be pleased with every single newcomer, there's something here for just about everyone.
With that said, here are some of the biggest releases that will or have come to Netflix this month.
"Friends"
There's little doubt that as soon as "Friends" hits Netflix, it will be among the most streamed titles out of all the new releases, if not overall. Friends left the air after a very successful 10 year run which ended in 2004. Since then, castmates Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Courtney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow have starred in other shows and movies, and have experienced varying degrees of success.
"Bowling for Columbine"
With America gripped by what seems to be a new school shooting every couple of months or so, the messages contained within Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine" documentary, which was originally released in 2002, may be more relevant than ever. Not everyone will agree with Moore's message or the way he gets his points across, but there's little doubt that this hit documentary could be as popular as it was when it was first released.
"Mean Girls"
You may scoff at its inclusion on this list, but "Mean Girls" was a huge hit when it was released in 2004. Since then, you might now have a teen or pre-teen daughter who could get a kick of out this comedic flick.
The movie stars Lindsey Lohan in a high-school setting as she tries to navigate through, avoid and ultimately confront the kind of drama and problems that teen ladies sometimes have to face in grade school.
"Notting Hill"
Ahh, the '90s, a time when romantic comedies were flowing like tap water, and Hugh Grant was at the height of his silver screen stardom. This movie, which was also a big hit upon release, stars Julia Roberts and the aforementioned Grant.
This film is about a book store owner (Grant) who crosses paths with a Hollywood star (Roberts). They strike up a conversation, and, well, we're not about to spoil anything.
"Batman & Robin"
If you're a youngster who grew up on the Christopher Nolan-directed trilogy of Batman films, you may not have the displeasure of knowing that the Batman film franchise was in absolute shambles before Nolan rescued it.
If you have a taste for B-movies and a snowstorm to wait out, you might want to check out "Batman & Robin," which stars George Clooney as the Caped Crusader and Chris O'Donnell as The Boy Wonder, Robin.
It only gets weirder from there.
What do you think of this list? What new movie and TV show releases are you looking forward to on Netflix?
