Kourtney Kardashian Kids, Baby Name & News: 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' Star Gushes Over Placenta Pills, Holds Scott Disick Hostage? [Pics]
Since giving birth to son Reign Aston Disick on Dec. 14, 2014, Kourtney Kardashian, 35, has kept much of her time with her bundle of joy private, that is, until Jan. 10 when the mother-of-three posted a picture on Instagram of two gray capsules with the caption, "Yummy...PLACENTA pills! No joke...I will be sad when my placenta pills run out. They are life changing! #benefits #lookitup."
Kardashian has been a supporter of placenta eating since her first pregnancy. The practice is often discussed in hospital birth classes as a natural way to absorb nutrients for increased breast milk production and to prevent postpartum depression. Celebrities like Kardashian and January Jones advocate the practice, while some women report adverse reactions.
A woman's placenta is usually placed in a freezer after childbirth to preserve it and later thawed to be ground and encapsulated into pills or cooked or blended in a smoothie.
In an episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," Kardashian and her younger sister Kim trick their family members into eating a placenta purchased off the Internet.
Baby daddy Scott Disick could be hoping the placenta pill treatment will improve Kardashian's mood so he can get out of the house as Radar Online reports he is being held hostage in his own home.
"Kourtney is not letting Scott out of her sights right now, and her family is all coming over non-stop to see the new baby," an inside source said.
According to the source, the Kardashian clan is supervising "The Lord" determined to keep him away from the booze.
"Scott has stepped up to the plate as a partner, father and family member. The fact that her and Scott are doing so well right now is because he is sober," the source added.
Disick, 31, secretly entered rehab over the summer after being hospitalized for alcohol poisoning, although he left the rehab before treatment had completed.
The couple also share son Mason, 5, and daughter Penelope, 2.
