Trivia Crack Questions, Answers & News: App Enjoys Great Success in Latin America
The popular app Trivia Crack has become the new addictive mobile game and has beat out various other popular apps in top charts. Why is the game so popular and how did it come to be?
Trivia Crack has topped the charts for free apps for both Android and iOS mobile devices, according to AppTrigger. The game, developed by Etermax, has topped the free and paid app categories in the App Store as well as the free app category in the Google Play store. It also remains within the top five in the paid app chart, unable to beat out games like "Minecraft: Pocket Edition."
At $2.99 a pop, the trivia quiz game has become increasingly popular, building on a worldwide popularity finally arriving in the United States.
According to Businessweek, Argentine Maximo Cavazanni created the app, which has become the fifth most popular app in the world and tops the charts for No. 1 free app in over 20 countries. It is particularly popular in Latin America, where the app first gained ground. Cavazanni's game has been so popular it spawned a TV game show in his home country and he is in talks for spin offs in Colombia, Brazil and Mexico.
What makes the game different than, say, viral hits like Flappy Bird is its how the player becomes involved in the game past the questions, engaging them and their friends and creating a community. The app has a built-in chat capability, allowing players to talk without leaving the app. One can play against Facebook friends.
Players also create the questions in the game. Other players can then vote on the questions or edit them for accuracy. Cavazanni credits these features as key to the app's success.
The game is available in seven languages: Spanish, English, Italian, Portuguese, French, German and Catalan, reports ABC News.
Although the game is not like other apps, which allow one to use cheats to get around challenges, one can submit hard questions, or some key words, to this website to get a quick answer.
