Zooey Deschanel has announced that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Jacob Pechenik.

"Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one," Deschanel revealed to People in excitement on Jan. 13.

Deschanel and Pechenik have yet to reveal their baby's sex.  

The couple has been dating since mid-2014. They first became known to the public after they made their red carpet debut at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre in August. 

Pechenik, 42, is an executive producer who has 20 film credits in total so far, IMDb reports. He is best known for "Before Midnight" (2013), "Jobs" (2013) and "The Immigrant" (2013), as well as the most recent, "The Skeleton Twins" (2014).

According to Us Weekly, the 34-year-old actress confirmed her romantic relationship with the producer after she split from her boyfriend of two years, screenwriter Jamie Linden. Deschanel also previously divorced Death Cab for Cutie lead vocalist Ben Gibbard back in 2012 after three years of marriage.

The "New Girl" star's pregnancy actually overlaps with sister Emily Deschanel's. The "Bones" actress is currently awaiting her second baby with actor husband David Hornsby.

"I work with a nutritionist to make sure I have the protein that I need," Emily told Us Weekly at a "Bones" party last month.

Emily added that her pregnancy craving is lemonade.

"It's so weird," she said. "I just get thirsty. You have to drink more water and I can only drink so much water. I used to drink a ton of [fluids] and now I've hit my limit so I think of a variety. Once I get thirsty, I'll want lemonade or a sparkling water. Maybe it is citrus fruits!"
