NFL Trade Rumors & Deadline 2013: Browns Receiver Josh Gordon, Giants' Hakeem Nicks Caught Up in Trade Talks
Newer names are appearing in the NFL's trade rumor mill, this time being the Browns' second-year receiver, Josh Gordon.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the news on Monday, saying that at least three NFL teams have reached out to the Browns about their interest in Gordon. Two of the three teams have offered a high draft pick and a player, ESPN also reported.
Despite ESPN just reporting about this story this week, Gordon said the rumors have swirled around him for some time now.
"It's been weeks now I've been hearing about," Gordon said to The Plain Dealer. "If it's going to happen, it's going to happen. That's just how I'm looking at it."
Browns coach Rob Chudzinksi and CEO Joe Banner have said that they do not have plans to ship the receiver even with the high draft picks being offered by other teams.
Other names that have popped up ahead of this year's upcoming trade deadline include Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks, a star receiver that has had a history of injuries in his five-year career. Teams have apparently contacted the Giants but there has not been any indication as to what Big Blue plans to do with the soon-to-be free agent.
A possible team that could be interested in Nicks would be the Indianapolis Colts after their other star veteran receiver, Reggie Wayne, went down for the season with a torn ACL.
The Oct. 29 NFL trade deadline is now just a week away as teams will look to make their last minute changes for the second-half playoff push.
