Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has unleashed more criticism towards Beyoncé. The potential 2016 presidential candidate slammed President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama for being bad parents because they let their daughters listen to the star's music.

During a recent interview with People magazine to promote his book "God, Guns, Grits and Gravy," the former governor acknowledged that the Obamas are "excellent and exemplary parents in many ways," however he added that he is baffled that 16-year-old Malia and 13-year-old Sasha are allowed to listen to the "Drunk in Love" singer.

"I don't understand how, on one hand, they can be such doting parents and so careful about the intake of everything -- how much broccoli they eat and where they go to school and making sure they're kind of sheltered and shielded from so many things -- and yet they don't see anything that might not be suitable for either a preteen or a teen in some of the lyrical content and choreography of Beyoncé, who has sort of a regular key to the door [of the White House]," said the former Baptist minister in an interview published T uesday.

In "God, Guns, Grits and Gravy," the Republican labels Beyoncé's lyrics as "obnoxious and toxic mental poison." He also lashes out at Jay Z, her husband, calling him a "pimp" who "exploits his wife," Rolling Stone reports.

Back in 2012, the president thanked Beyoncé and Jay-Z for their friendship during a pricey fundraiser held at the 40/40 club in New York City. He also praised the Grammy award-winning singer.

"Beyoncé could not be a better role model for my girls," he said according to Yahoo! News.

Beyoncé has been a frequent guest at the White House during Obama's tenure in the Oval Office. She sang at Barack Obama's second inauguration and performed at Mrs. Obama's 50th birthday party.
