Jamie Dornan has been selected to replace Charlie Hunnam in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

According to THS, Jamie Dornan is now officially in negotiations to play opposite Dakota Johnson as Christian Grey, a kinky businessman who seduces Johnson's Anastasia Steele with S&M and a sculpted body.

On Monday, Michael De Luca explained how important it was to have a "fresh face" as the new Christian Grey.

"I feel like everyone has an idea of what these characters look like and sound like, so to present the world with fresh faces, where no pre-conceived notions or baggage come with it, is best," De Luca told Los Angeles Times. "It's like casting Superman or James Bond. A fresh face is appropriate."

Dornan certainly fits the criteria with only a few acting credits to his name.

Dornan first gained fame as an underwear model for Calvin Klein. His modeling career took off with spreads for Armani, Christian Dior and Aquacutum. He has even modeled with legend Kate Moss.

The model then made the switch to acting in 2006 with a small role alongside Kirsten Dunst in Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. From 2011 until 2013, Dorman played Sheriff Graham in ABC's "Once Upon a Time." The model-turned-actor then confirmed his acting legitimacy by playing a serial killer in "The Fall," a BBC drama.

You may also recognize Dornan from his relationship with Keira Knightley. The pair met on the set of an Asprey photo shoot and dated from 2003 until 2005, Telegraph reports.

Originally, Hunnam, from the FX's "Sons of Anarchy" was selected to play Christian Grey, but on Oct. 12, Universal Pictures and Focus Features announced that Hunnam backed out due to a busy TV schedule.

Recently, Hunnam spoke out for the first time since leaving Fifty Shades of Grey, saying that filming the final season of "Sons" has kept him busy. Rumors, on the other hand, claim that Hunnam was turned off by the pressure of fulfilling millions' of readers expectations and that he wanted more creative control.

"Charlie, I think, is an amazing actor of his generation or any generation, and we just couldn't make it work in the time he had to transform into Christian Grey, but I think if it is meant to be it is meant to be," De Luca told E! News. "I'm convinced we'll work together again."

Filming for Fifty Shades of Grey is scheduled to begin Nov. 13. According to De Luca, Fifty Shades of Grey will still see an Aug. 1, 2014 release.
