NBA 2K14 Release Date, Gameplay & Features: PS4 and Xbox One Versions Will Run at 1080p Resolution
Xbox One and PS4 gamers received a bit of reassurance on Thursday after Visual Concepts executive vice president Jeff Thomas told IGN that the NBA 2K14 video game will run at 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second.
The game is one of the hottest new releases for video game platforms this season as the NBA season starts to heat up. NBA 2K14 is on the top ten most preordered PS4 games thus far, and while it is not on the top ten list for Xbox One, it will likely catch up soon since the Microsoft console was just a bit behind in getting the ball rolling.
So far the game has received decent but not great reviews after people have gotten to play it on the current Xbox One and PS3 consoles; the new generation game can be played in November following the release of the PS4 on Nov. 15 and the Xbox One on Nov. 22.
Polygon only gave the game a 7.5 out of 10 after reviewing it on the current consoles. Most people, however, are holding off on their opinions about the game until they are able to get a chance to play it on the new generation systems.
"NBA 2K14 plays well enough on the court, but the rest of the game fails to match it," the review says. "It's not a turn for the worse for the highly regarded series. But it's the first NBA 2K title in years that I can't unequivocally recommend. Especially with next-generation versions of the game only six weeks away."
The game was released on Oct. 1.
