Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will continue their title quest in the men's competition, while Maria Sharapova will also see action in Day 3 of the 2015 Australian Open on Tuesday night.

Sharapova will play in the second match of the first session that is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. EST. The Russian tennis superstar will go up against compatriot Alexandra Panova.

The second-seeded Sharapova opened her campaign on a high note as she cruised to a 6-4, 6-1 win over Petra Martic of Croatia, displaying her form that helped her win the 2015 Brisbane International title last week.

Sharapova, who is looking to win her fifth Grand Slam title and second Australian Open title, will be a heavy favorite to win over the unseeded Panova, who scored a 7-5, 6-0 win against Sorana Cirstea in the opening round.

Following the Sharapova-Panova match, Federer will resume his quest for an elusive 18th Grand Slam title.

Federer, a four-time Australian Open champion, will go up against 29-year-old Italian Simone Bolelli, who earned a spot in the second round after a hard-earned 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 win over Juan Monaco of Argentina in the first round.

On the other hand, Federer opened his campaign with an impressive 6-4, 6-2, 7-5 victory against Lu Yen-Hsun of Chinese Taipei. The 33-year-old Swiss tennis superstar managed to pick up from where he left off during the 2015 Brisbane International, where he won the title and recorded his 1,000th career victory.

Meanwhile, Nadal, the third-seeded player on the men's side, will face Tim Smyczek of USA in the second round. Their match is scheduled to start Wednesday, 3 a.m. EST, at Rod Laver Arena.

Nadal, who missed the majority of last season due to injuries, was on target in his opening-round assignment. The Spanish tennis superstar won against Mikhail Youzhny of Russia 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 in a match where he hit 37 winners.

The 14-time Grand Slam champion is expected to cruise to a victory against Smyczek, but Nadal insisted there is no room for complacency for him, knowing anyone is capable of pulling off a huge upset at this point of the tournament.

"All opponents are dangerous," Nadal told reporters. "All opponents are going to be difficult, and with the maximum respect for everybody and knowing that anything can happen in every round against anyone."
