'Bones' Season 10 Recap and Spoilers: Fox Executive Hints at Season 11 of Bones
A Fox executive hinted that "Bones" fans can look forward to at least one more season of the long running comedy-drama.
During the winter TV press tour earlier this month, FOX chairman and CEO Dana Walden revealed that things are looking good for an eleventh season of "Bones," which has featured stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz for over a decade.
"On 'Bones,' we are at the end of our deal with Emily and David and we have started conversations with them and we're very hopeful that 'Bones' will return," said Walden, according to Zapt2It. "We can't announce it today because deals aren't closed, but we love the show. It's been so meaningful to the studio and nothing would make us happier than doing another year."
In addition, fellow FOX chairman and CEO Gary Newman confirmed that the negotiations are only for one more season, although that doesn't necessarily indicate when the show will end.
"I think that it's likely to be a one-season conversation at this point, which I think makes them more comfortable and I think probably makes sense for the network as well," he says.
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait two months for another all-new episode of "Bones," which is slated to return from its winter recess on March 26.
In addition to new and thrilling adventures and conflict, Carter Matt reports there will be a lot of love in the rest of Season 10. That may be because the show writers decided to incorporate Emily Deschanel's real-life pregnancy into the show (and, as well all know, a new baby always brings lots of love).
Meanwhile, Jack and Angela will face a new set of challenges on the series. According to actor T.J. Thyne, who plays Jack Hodgins, the couple will face "a good amount of conflicts" in their relationship when the topic of spirituality vs. science comes up, said Thyne to TVLine. The issue will arise after resident psychic Avalon Harmonia, played by returning guest star Cyndi Lauper, makes contact with the spirt of the late Dr. Sweets and Angela, played by Michaela Conlin.
"It's an artist and a scientist making a life together," Conlin said. "That will always bring up some issues."
"Bones" will return on Thursday, March 26 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
