Floyd Mayweather Jr. insisted his long-awaited showdown against Manny Pacquiao is not close to being finalized, contrary to what recent reports are suggesting.

Pacquiao recently said he has already agreed to face Mayweather on Cinco de Mayo weekend on May 2 and will wait until the end of January for the reigning pound-for-pound king to decide.

Reacting on the alleged deadline from Pacquiao and his camp, Mayweather told "The Whoolywood Shuffle" the Filipino boxing icon has no right to demand.

"I've been saying this for a long time, Pacquiao has no say because he fights for Top Rank Promotions," Mayweather said according to Daily Mail. "He's not in a position to call the shots right now; he's not the A-side. I have Mayweather Promotions; it's my company."

Mayweather, who called out Pacquiao last month for a showdown on May 2, insisted he is open to facing the reigning World Boxing Organization welterweight champion but blasted Pacquiao's camp for saying most terms of the fight have been finalized, creating speculation the super showdown will finally happen.

"Do I want to fight Pacquiao? Absolutely. Are we negotiating? Absolutely. Has the fight been made? Not at all," Mayweather said. "We have been going back and forth communicating with their team. Hopefully we can make this fight happen. Pacquiao said he had agreed to everything, but what did he agree to? He has no say."

Alex Ariza, Mayweather's strength and conditioning coach, also blasted Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum for revealing details of the negotiations. Ariza said Arum is trying to fool fans by saying the fight will happen on May 2 even if it will not, accusing the Top Rank boss of preventing the potential record-breaking showdown from being finalized.

"It's sad. I mean, it's deceptive and to me. It's just straight lying what Bob Arum is doing," Ariza told Fighthype. "To me, it's revolting that the fans have to sit there and get their hopes up for something that doesn't exist. Chavez Sr. said it too, it's impossible to work with Bob. He's never going to let it happen."

When asked about Ariza's tirade against him, Arum told New York Daily News the strength and conditioning coach, who was previously fired by Pacquiao's camp, had nothing to do with the negotiations for the fight.

"Ariza has nothing to do with anything," Arum said. "He has not been a party even remotely to the negotiations. Everything is agreed to, do you understand? I am very positive this fight is going to happen."
