GTA 5 iFruit Android Release Date & News Update: Sources Confirm Launch on Google Play [Download Link]
Looks like Android users can now breathe a sigh of relief as Rockstar Games finally releases the Grand Theft Auto: iFruit on Android.
Grand Theft Auto 5 has been released with much anticipation and fanfare from gamers. In just a few days, the game actually broke video game sales records, including the fastest entertainment unit to reach $1 billion in sales. Following the success, Rockstar announced that it will be releasing two companion applications for gamers to use while playing GTA V in their consoles -the GTA 5 Manual and the GTA: iFruit.
Notably though, Rockstar took longer to release the iFruit on Android than on iOS, causing an outcry from non-Apple gamers. An online petition was created asking publishers to release the app on Android, while other accused Rockstar and Apple of having an under-the-table deal, exclusively releasing the app to iOS.
Thankfully, Android gamers can now play the video game to the fullest with help of the companion app that is now available for download on Google Play.
"The frustrating wait for Grand Theft Auto V's official iFruit companion app to launch on Android devices is over: the app went live on the Google Play store earlier today," The Guardian wrote.
The companion app is free-to-play and allows gamers play with two additional features for Grand Theft Auto 5:
- Los Santos Customs- this feature allows gamers to create and customize their own vehicles anytime, anywhere.
- Chop the Dog- a virtual pet, the app allows gamers to take care of Franklin's Rottweiler friend. The better gamers take care of Chop the greater benefits Franklin receives in-game.
The mobile application released on October 28 is available for download on Android 3.0 and up devices. Game reviews for the app are not so good, however, scoring 3.2 stars out of 5.
