Kanye West Tour Dates 2013: Kendrick Lamar Talks Learning Experience From 'Yeezus' Tour [VIDEO]
Kendrick Lamar, who is the opener for Kanye West's sold-out "Yeezus" tour, recently discussed his experiences from the ongoing tour and his goals in the near future.
We can say that the Compton rapper is currently sitting on top of the rap game. His latest release, "good kid, m.A.A.d. city," has been certified platinum since its release, just over a year ago, and he is a part of TDE, one of the most talented crews in hip-hop, who swept the 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher with the crew's charismatic, fiery verses. Kendrick Lamar has one more on his list - performing as the opener for Kanye's "Yeezus" tour. It seems that the rapper is enjoying his learning experience.
"We'll be going into the middle of December, which is a blessing," says Lamar. "A lot of people don't get the opportunity to be on a major stage in front of that many people and be able to learn. I'm just taking it all in stride and being a student of the game because Kanye, he's a great performer. I'm not too shabby, like I said, again, but I'm just there really to challenge myself, grow myself and take that next level."
K-Dot also talks about the importance of music in his life and expresses his love of music. "It's just something I breathe now," he says. "I didn't always breathe it. I always was a fan of it, but now I really live it. That's inspiration within itself."
Kendrick Lamar then shares his goals and what his next steps are, following his true passion, music. "Really getting back in that studio," says Kendrick Lamar. "Locking in. Just keep continue with music, continue challenging myself. I don't really got much goin' on outside of music. So that's about it."
