Twerk or treat! Miley Cyrus celebrates Halloween a day early and she just can't stop shocking people with her controversial and eye-catching wardrobe. The "We Can't Stop" singer dressed up as Lil' Kim at 1999 MTV VMAs.

It was not too long ago when Cyrus twerked her way into public infamy at 2013 MTV VMAs with her provocative performance for Robin Thicke's summer hit, "Blurred Lines." To celebrate this year's Halloween festivities, the singer makes a rather striking costume choice, and pays tribute to Lil' Kim's revealing and quite memorable outfit from 1999 MTV awards show.

The 20-year-old former Disney star takes Twitter and Instagram to post up her selfies wearing a replica of the female rapper's infamous look with a following caption, "Happy Halloween @LilKim." In the pictures, Cyrus is sporting a jumpsuit in purple tone with a sparkly sequin periwinkle pasty. She also shows off her long, straight purple wig.

The 39-year-old Brooklyn rapper responds on Twitter, approving Cyrus' costume choice - "Awwww. Look at my baby @mileycyrus tonight!!! Looking GORGEOUS!!! I wish I was there to squeeze your boob :) :) Love U so much !!!! #mytwin"

Miley Cyrus also has inspired people to be her on this year's Halloween. The singer's best friend and assistant has recreated Cyrus' look from the MTV Video Music Awards in August, sporting a teddy bear leotard and a foam finger.

Cyrus has previously expressed love for her favorite rapper Lil' Kim. "In my past life, I feel like that was me. I feel like Lil Kim is who I am on the inside," says the singer. "She just makes me happy... I just love her. And I can't help that I love her."
