The Avengers 2 Cast, News & Update: James Spader Will Lend 'More Than Just Voice' to Ultron
Marvel Studios has confirmed in August that James Spader will be joining the cast of the upcoming film The Avengers: Age of Ultron; however, it seems that the film may only be using the Boston Legal star.
Comprising the role of led villain Ultron, Spader will be doing the voice for the character known to be an evil robot that has superpowers to travel through time. Of course, Ultron will be destroying peace and order here on earth to which the Avengers have to defend and settle.
Given Spader's robot character, many fans are curious whether the actor will be making an appearance on the movie, or will his voice be the only indication of his part in the sequel. However, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige clarified that it will be more than just his voice.
"We did not hire James Spader to do a robot voice," Fiege told the Huffington Post with a laugh. "Well, I think it will be more than a voice role - we'll be capturing his face and his body to create a whole performance."
MTV says that given this new info, Ultron may have more than one form in the sequel to the 2012 smash hit The Avengers.
"Our best guess? We'll be seeing more than one form of the notoriously protean Ultron in 'Avengers 2.' While the San Diego Comic-Con teaser showed his classic, comics-inspired look, perhaps that won't be the final form of the villain in the movie," the website wrote.
While there still isn't any proof as to how Spader will be infusing his prints into the character, Feige was quick to note that he knows Spader will be doing a great job portraying Ultron.
"I don't want to say too much, but you can imagine James Spader will be very dynamic in his portrayal of this character."
The Avengers: Age of Ultron is expected to make its way to theatres in 2015.
