iPad Mini 2 Release Date, Price & Sales News: Retina Displays Coming This Month, iPad Air Sells Five Times Faster Than iPad 4
Apple turned some heads on Monday morning when the company failed to release its first weekend sales report for the iPad Air as it usually does after a product is released. The news raises the question of whether Apple is just trying to buy time before it releases the iPad Mini with Retina Display.
Considering that many people expected Apple to already have retina displays on the iPads, the company has worked hard to reverse the negative PR that has resulted by scheduling the retina display iPads to be released later in the month of November.
In related news, mobile analytics firm Fiksu said that the iPad Air is off to an incredible start in its first few days on the shelves. The next generation tablet had five times the adoption level that the iPad 4 had and three times that of the initial iPad Mini.
Apple has struggled to keep up with competitors lately as the company looks for new ways to revolutionize their products. Apple's decision to release two iPhones to cater to different age demographics as well as people on different budgets was one of the ways in which we've seen the company doing this. However, the iPhone 5c has proved to be a disappointment and Apple already scaled back production of the phone.
Apple's seemingly late introduction of retina display to their tablets is also in response to competition. Not only have others helped to push Apple to bringing retina display to the iPads but even Apple itself. The company's retina display on other Apple products has made it almost a no-brainer to bring retina display to the iPads.
