Selena Gomez 2013 Tour Dates: Singer Announces Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Halftime Show Performance on Twitter
Selena Gomez, who released her debut album "Stars Dance" in July with her hit single "Come & Get It," will be celebrating this year's Thanksgiving with the Dallas Cowboys. The pop singer will be featured in the halftime show of the football game between the former Super Bowl champs and the Oakland Raiders.
Born in Grand Prairie, Texas and her family still living in the state, the 21-year-old singer is excited about her upcoming performance.
"I'm so excited to be here," says Gomez. "I'm from Texas, so I'm a little nervous, I'm not going to lie. But I'm very honored and I hope that we come - me, my dancers and my band - and we give Texas a really good show and I make them proud."
The Cowboys have partnered with the Salvation Army to launch the fundraiser on Thanksgiving Day since 1997. Its annual Red Kettle campaign, which it was launched in 1891 in San Francisco, has raised more than $1.75 billion in the past to provide meals, clothes, shelter, toys and other goods and services for families in need.
"I don't think you can be from Texas and not watch a Cowboys Thanksgiving game," the singer says.
She also posts about her forthcoming halftime performance on Twitter with the caption following, "Feels SO good to be home. Hi Dallas. I hope I make TX proud. J."
Gomez' performance will kick off at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on November 28, and it will launch the Salvation Army's 123rd Red Kettle campaign.
