The Nintendo Wii Mini finally received a ship date for the US. The $99 Wii Mini console will hit US stores starting later this month.

The Wii Mini was launched in Canada after the Official Wii U debuted last fall. This was followed by other launches across the world, the most recent of which is in UK. However, the US missed out. With Wii U sales quite slow, expansion is a must, especially for taking advantage of the shopping frenzy in the upcoming months.

Nintendo has already stopped manufacturing the original console in the UK and Canada, but not in the US. The Wii mini is the only remaining hardware option for the fans of the original model. However, this is the only feature similar to the original model. The Wii mini cannot connect to the internet and users can only play Wii optical discs, CNET news reports.

While this may be unappealing to some, others may be persuaded if they see how cheap it is especially to give as gifts to their children this Christmas.

Moreover, even though it lacks WiFi and GameCube support, users can still access the Wii's library with over 1,300 games. Throwing in the Mario Kart game is a wise move. The original Wii, which debuted in 2006, sold over 100 million units to date. Mario Kart Wii was not bundled before, but it was the highest selling game, selling more than 34 million copies ever since it was released in 2008.

The WII Minis to be sold in the US, comes bundled with one WII remote, a nunchuk attachment as well as the game of Mario Kart. This will already be available by the middle of November.

According to Gamespot.com, those who will buy the Nindendo Wii Mini can enjoy the upcoming releases of new game titles such as the Super Mario 3D World on November 22, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze in December, the Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. in 2014.
