A Muslim woman from Michigan is claiming harassment by another passenger while both were aboard a Delta Air Lines flight, during which she also alleges flight attendants did nothing to aid her.

Darlene Hider, a 32-year-old Arab-American who wears an Islamic head wrap, was traveling with her husband and four children on a flight from Florida back to Detroit at the time of the incident.

Hider told the Detroit Free Press another female passenger shouted "This is America" at her. At that point, Hider claims not only did the flight attendant order her and her family to move but later scolded her.

"You are at my wit's end. You better be quiet before I kick you off of this plane. Get your kids and change seats," a flight attendant said according to Hider.

Hider's brother, Abed Ayoub, later tweeted about the incident.

"Bigot threatens Muslim family. Crew does nothing," he said via Twitter.

According to the newspaper, some of his tweets were later retweeted by actress Mia Farrow.

Ayoub said his sister told him she felt helpless.

 "I couldn't defend myself or kids because I was afraid of what more they'll do. I was afraid to be called a terrorist," she said.

"We have been in touch with the customer," Delta spokesman Brian Kruse said. "We have been reviewing the situation. Delta does not condone discrimination of any kind."

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee has released a video of the incident during which a flight attendant can be heard telling Hider's husband, "You want to get off the plane? ... I'm fixing the problem. ... If you want, we will take you out."

"We encourage Delta to take immediate steps to rectify this matter and ensure that their agents are better equipped to address instances of harassment," Anti-Discrimination Committee president Samer Khalaf said
