Nike is expected to have a big weekend as they are set to release the first colorway of the newest signature shoe of Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant, the company confirmed.

The new Kobe 10, Bryant's latest signature shoe with the company, will make its debut on the sneaker market on Saturday. It will come out in what is dubbed as the "5AM Flight" edition, which is officially listed as the Blue Lagoon/Black-Vapor Green colorway of the shoe.

The Kobe 10 "5AM Flight" features a blue lagoon-based upper part combined with an all-black Nike Swoosh logo on the side panel and four red lines on the back panel, which still symbolizes Bryant's sutures after undergoing a successful Achilles tendon surgery in 2013.

This edition is finished off with a green translucent outsole. According to Nike, the overall design was inspired by Bryant's morning diving and swimming sessions when he was recovering from the surgery that repaired a torn Achilles tendon.

"The lead colorway, 5 AM Flight, takes inspiration from Bryant's 40-foot, early morning leap from a diving platform in August 2013 as he recovered from surgery on his Achilles," Nike wrote in a statement. "The dive is symbolic of Bryant's perseverance to overcome the odds and face fear head-on. The shoe's blue palette represents the pool water of Bryant's 5 AM flight."

Aside from the intriguing design of the Bryant's new signature shoe, Nike also announced that consumers will get their money's worth because this shoe features hybrid cushioning for enhanced natural movement, advanced traction system for better grip on the hardcourt, and a seamless textile upper for superb breathability and durability.

"Driven by superior performance, the Kobe 10 features hybrid cushioning, an advanced traction system and a seamless textile upper," Nike noted. "Superior functionality is often driven by a less-is-more design philosophy where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts."

The Kobe 10 "5AM Flight" will be available starting 10 a.m. EST on Nike.com and select Nike retailers worldwide. Retail prices are set at $180 for men's sizes, $135 for gradeschool sizes, $85 for preschool sizes and $60 for toddler sizes.
