The NFL standings are looking even more interesting after an eventful Sunday afternoon of football across the country.

Starting in the NFC East, the Giants won their third straight game to improve to 3-6; now only two and a half games separates them from first place. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles took advantage of the Green Bay Packers' backup quarterback and ran away with a 27-13 victory. In the primetime Sunday night slot, the New Orleans Saints pounded the Dallas Cowboys in a 49-17 drubbing to send the NFC East into a two-way tie with Dallas and Philadelphia.

The Packers loss was great news for fans who were watching the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears game. The Lions managed to hold off the Bears in Chicago and won, 21-19. The Detroit Lions now hold a one-game lead over both the Bears and the Packers.

In the AFC, things were just as interesting. The Colts were shockingly handed a 38-8 loss by the St. Louis Rams; the Jacksonville Jaguars won for the first time this season; and Denver eked out a 28-20 victory despite having Jack Del Rio as the interim head coach while John Fox recovers with a health issue.

In another surprising game, the Cincinnati Bengals lost to the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens, a team that has struggled mightily this season. The Ravens are now 4-5 and only two games out of first place behind the Bengals.

Tonight's game between the Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be starting at 8:30 p.m. ET. The Bucs are now the lone winless team in the league after the Jaguars won on Sunday.
