'La Sombra del Pasado' Telenovela Spoilers: Cast Members Thelma Madrigal and Pablo Lyle Talk Love Triangle, Riding Horses
"La Sombra del Pasado" won't be premiering until Feb. 16 on Univision, but in the meantime, Televisa learned more about the characters.
Televisa interviewed Thelma Madrigal and asked if portraying a villain would be difficult for her.
"I am a good person," she said. "But the character is going to be another thing. Working on her and having people believe the character, that's very important, obviously."
Madrigal's character is Valeria, a woman who is obsessed with the main character, Cristobal. Her character will be teaming up with Cristobal's mom, as both women want him away from Aldonza.
While Madrigal was being interviewed, Pablo Lyle, who is Cristobal in the series, dropped in to chat. For Lyle, Cristobal is his first starring role.
"I'm happy," he said. "I'm very nervous. I'm anxious. The most important thing is being in your homes and for you to feel what we feel. I want you to feel it, live it, laugh and cry with us."
The two actors joked about being experts at riding horses, but Madrigal then admitted there is a scene she has to get on a horse with Lyle. Madrigal said she didn't know how she was going to get through shooting that scene.
Lyle did ride horses as a child, and in preparation for the show, he took more lessons. He still loved it.
Lyle also talked about the love triangle between Cristobal, Valeria and Aldonza.
"They're going to dispute between themselves," he said. "I'm going to let myself be loved. Cristobal's heart is taken from the very beginning."
Madrigal interrupted him and channeled her character to ask if he really had already picked.
"I didn't say who," Lyle said.
The show will follow Cristobal and Aldonza's romance until she is forced to go away. In that time, Cristobal starts a relationship with Valeria, but when Aldonza returns, things get complicated.
