One in 20 Google search requests are about health-related information. Unfortunately, Google's results are not the best answers for those concerned with getting information on their health. Google is about to fix that. In the next few days, according to their official blog.

Google will start displaying instant answers through their Knowledge Graph when someone performs a health-related search.

For example, if you have an ear infection, you would type in "ear infection" into the search bar. Google will pop up its Knowledge Graph with symptoms, treatments, how severe the condition is and more. This is without you having to even click on any links.

For some conditions, you will see a highly detailed illustration of the condition. Google hopes that these quick facts and answers will provide you with the information you need on your concern. If you want to know more, you can keep searching or ask your doctor, Knowledge Graph will give you the basics and get most questions answered.

Currently, Google has 400 of the most common medical search terms linked up to Knowledge Graph and more to come. 

"An average of 11 doctors have vetted each fact, and all (of the 400 conditions) were then reviewed by the Mayo Clinic," said Amit Singhal, Google's vice president in charge of search, told USA TODAY. "And this is just a start." 

Singhal says the results are not meant to take over the proper care that a doctor has but rather to help "provide a framework for a more informed conversation with your doctor."

Pictures were an important feature to be added to these new searches because many people are using their smartphones when they are sick. 

"A picture is worth a thousand words, especially when you're on mobile," Singhal said.
