Suge Knight Charged With Murder: Surveillance Video Reportedly Shows Men Ambushed Founder of Death Row Records With Gun Before Getting Hit by His Car
A newly discovered video shows one of the two men Suge Knight is now jailed for running over held a gun and pointed it in the direction of the former Death Row record label owner just before the incident.
According to TMZ, Cle "Bone" Sloan can be seen in the video holding the weapon just before Knight strikes him and Terry Carter with his vehicle. Carter died from his injuries, while Sloan is reported to have suffered severe leg injuries.
TMZ adds that in the video, as the two men lay on the pavement, someone quickly comes over and takes the revolver from Sloan's hands and walks away.
Sources said someone close to Knight now believes Carter may have been in on the planned ambush.
Knight and Carter are reported to have driven to the scene of the incident together for a planned meeting and are said to have been longtime acquaintances.
USA Today reports the footage was captured by surveillance cameras at the nearby Tam's restaurant.
David Kenner, Knight's attorney, said he believes the video strengthens his client's case and is consistent with his claims that he was ambushed.
The 49-year-old Knight faces murder and attempted murder charges and is being held without bound in connection with the Jan. 29 incident. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Knight also faces a Feb. 19 scheduled court appearance in an unrelated case where he and comedian Katt Williams are accused of robbing a photographer of his camera. Prosecutors also slapped Knight with the felony charge of making bodily threats to the alleged victim. A preliminary hearing in the case was held in L.A. County court earlier this week, but neither Knight nor Williams attended. A judge told reps for both men each of them is required to be at the Feb. 19 proceedings.
