Rap-A-Lot Records CEO James Prince Threatens Diddy Over Drake, Insults Lil Wayne & Suge Knight in New 'Courtesy Call' Diss Track Song [Listen]
Tension reportedly remains between P. Diddy and Drake following their December 2014 Miami fight, and now Drake's longtime mentor, Rap-A-Lot Records CEO James Prince, is dissing Diddy, Suge Knight, Lil Wayne and Birdman in a scathing track.
Prince recently recorded what he refers to as a "courtesy call," a strong warning to Diddy, Knight, Lil Wayne and Birdman, reports TMZ. Sources connected to Prince said he has been simmering with anger since Diddy punched Drake at Miami's LIV Nightclub.
On the track, Prince refers to Drake as "family" and threatens the Bad Boy boss.
"Puffy feeling like he can put his hands on my family, open the doors for his family to be touched. You reap what you sow," he sings.
Regarding a jab at Drake made to a TMZ camera guy, Prince warns Knight ("Sugar Bear") that he is his worst nightmare.
Prince goes on to disparage Lil Wayne and Birdman, with whom he's had a long-running legal war, and demands Birdman and Slim do right by him and pay him "every penny due."
Prince has more beef with Lil Wayne than legal issues. His former fiancé of 14 months, Christina Milian, is rumored to be dating Lil Wayne.
The Rap-A-Lot Records CEO's warnings should be considered more than smack talk considering his serious street reputation, not unlike Knight's. The Hip Hop Foundation reports that nearly every rapper that's been on the Rap-A-Lot label roster has had a run-in with Prince.
Geto Boys' DJ Ready Red was the first to expose Prince's hard-handed business practices when he left the group in 1991 frustrated with the lack of earnings.
"A lot of other people who left Rap-A-Lot were victims to home invasions; they got pistol whipped, and got their equipment took back, but I was going to the gun range. I was learning to shoot, learning how to take care of myself, and defend myself, so if you was gonna run up on me you was gonna get double tapped," DJ Ready Red told Prezident Bejda's Murder Master Music Show in 2013.
