NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Features, Gameplay & Review: Game Will Come to Life Like Never Before Wtih Eco-Motion Engine
NBA 2K14 lived up to the hype on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 when it was released on Oct. 1, but now fans are about to be introduced to entirely new standards in gaming.
The Xbox One and Playstation 4 will both be on the shelves within the next week along with the next generation version of NBA 2K14. Gamers have seen the trailers, they've read about the game, and they're ready to play it. But to what extent the realistic nature of the game will go on the next generation consoles is yet to be seen by the general public, and 2K Community Manager Ronnie Singh gave a glimpse into how the way the game will come alive like never before.
"With Eco-Motion, the entire NBA experience comes to life in ways never before seen in a video game, including crowd reactions, atmosphere, coaching strategies, real player voices, and most of all the emotion of the game," he said. "Player animations are dynamic, and evolve on the fly as you play. Player personalities and emotions factor into the game as well, affecting how players perform and even behave on the court. No longer will players look like robots on the court. Now you will feel the emotion of the game in a living, evolving basketball environment."
With all of this considered, it certainly sounds like there will be a learning curve in order to get used to the new ways to play. Singh even said that each dribble is different, each shot is different, and "no two animations will ever appear exactly the same."
Singh did not specify whether this special emotion features would be extended to other 2K games in different sports, such as basketball, but he did say that they "definitely wanted to make it the most versatile engine around."
