As things continue to decline for him, TMZ is reporting that Chad Johnson has officially been charged with misdemeanor domestic battery after allegedly headbutting his estranged wife Evelyn Lozada during argument last month.

Johnson was arraigned on Thursday on the misdemeanor domestic battery charge and his attorney entered a not guilty plea in Broward County Court If convicted, Johnson faces up to a year in jail.

In strange twist, Johnson recently got a picture of Lozada's face tattooed on his right leg with the name "Eve" underneath it.

Johnson sent out a picture of the new ink to his 3.7 million followers on Twitter. He later deleted the post.

Lozada filed for divorce from Johnson last month, just 41 days after their much-anticipated wedding. The couple wed on July 4.

Allegedly, Lozada was taking groceries out of a car that Johnson used to drive to football practice when she said she found a bag in the backseat with a toothbrush holder and a Walgreens receipt for a box of condoms, bought just three weeks after the nuptials, inside.

"He grabbed me by here [pointing to her head] and he head-butted me," Lozada said in an exclusive interview with ABC's Nightline. "I felt blood coming down my face... and I looked at him and I said, 'You just head-butted me?' And it just -- everything just felt if it was in slow motion."

Johnson was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. He was released on $2,500 bond and cut from the Dolphins' team.

Johnson and Lozada's fairytale life was taped for a show called "Ev & Ocho." It was set to debut Sept. 3, but was cancelled after the couple's debacle.

Johnson released a statement  after the incident on his official website, OCNN.

"I am going to let the legal process run its course," Johnson wrote. "I wish Evelyn nothing but the best, I have no negative words to say about her, the only thing I can say is I love her very much. I will continue to be positive and stay training hard for another opportunity in the NFL. I appreciate all my fans and supporters and if I have disappointed you in any way, you have my sincerest apologies. Once again I will continue to stay positive and appreciate all the support during this tough period in my life."
