Xbox One vs PS4 Specs & Graphics: Microsoft Xbox One Team and Sony PlayStation 4 Team Support One Another's Launches
Sony released its newest video game console, the PlayStation 4 last Friday. Its biggest competitor, Microsoft's Xbox One, will be released this Friday. Instead of attacking one another, however, the two companies are being friendly and supportive.
Congratulations were in order for Sony's PS4 team, and Twitter was the method of choice for Microsoft executives.
"Congrats to the PS4 team @PlayStation, @amboyes, @CEOJackTretton, @yosp on the launch of PS4," Phil Spencer, Microsoft Studios corporate vice president, said via Twitter, tagging Sony executives Adam Boyes, Jack Tretton and Shuhei Yoshida, respectively.
"Congrats to all my friends @PlayStation and @amboyes and @yosp on the launch of PS4. Great job, looking forward to Gen8!" Albert Penello, Xbox director of product planning, said via Twitter, tagging the same Sony executives.
"Congratulations to @Playstation on their North American launch cc @yosp @amboyes," Larry Hyrb, Xbox Live director of programming, added via Twitter.
The Sony team was just as cordial, returning the sentiments and wishing the Xbox One team luck on their upcoming launch.
"@majornelson @PlayStation @amboyes Thanks Larry, your turn next week! :D," Yoshida said via Twitter while tagging Hyrb.
The PS4 launched with impressive sales, selling one million units during its first 24 hours on the United States' and Canada's shelves, including pre-orders.
"Sales remain very strong in North America, and we expect continued enthusiasm as we launch the PlayStation 4 in Europe and Latin America on November 29th," Andrew House, president and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, said.
The PS4 starts at $399. The Xbox One starts at $499.
