Chris Brown reportedly reached out to ex Rihanna to wish her a happy birthday over the weekend. Is his current girlfriend Karrueche Tran okay with that?

The Barbadian star turned 27 on Feb. 20, and Brown certainly did not forget the special day, despite their breakup. According to Urban Islandz, the "New Flame" crooner called his former lover.

"Because they are not together now people think that they don't speak any at all but they are still friends and still care about each other," an insider revealed. "Chris called her this morning after she landed in LA and wished her a happy birthday. The call lasted a few minutes and was candid and of course RiRi thought that was a sweet gesture."

Similarly, HollywoodLife.com reported the former couple still keeps in touch with each other.

"Chris and Rihanna just can't cut off communication with one another," a source said. "She actually wished Chris a happy birthday when he turned 25 last year, so he was returning the favor by wishing her many happy returns on Friday [her birthday]."

"They don't talk every day. Occasionally, one will reach out to the other once a month, but it's very harmless," the source continued. "They still have a fondness for one another, despite everything that went on, but don't have any romantic feelings."

How does Tran feel about the pair hitting up each other from time to time?

"Karrueche isn't happy about it. She doesn't think Chris should be contacting his exes and should concentrate on her," the source said. "He doesn't listen, however, and likes to stay friends with former girlfriends, much to her annoyance."

Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio apparently helped RiRi throw a star-studded b-day bash, attended by Beyoncé, Jay Z, Mick Jagger, Russell Simmons, Angela Martini, Tommy Chiabra and her rumored boyfriend Richie Akiva.

According to Us Weekly, the party took place at a private home in Beverly Hills and ended after 4 a.m.

"There were balloons that spelled out her name set up," a source said. "Naomi Campbell was right next to her when she blew out the candles."
