Cameron Diaz, Benji Madden Married & Relationship News: Good Charlotte Star Gets Tattoo Honoring Actress Wife [Pic]
A tattooed portrait of American founding father Benjamin Franklin already graces the body of Benji Madden. But beyond his patriotism, the American guitarist and vocalist has now also decided to prominently display his love for Cameron Diaz in ink.
On Monday, the Good Charlotte posted an Instagram shot of his newest tattoo, which spells the actress'first name across his chest..
"Thinking bout you #LuckyMan," the 35-year-old wrote in the caption.
Diaz's name has been placed just above a pre-existing design of a heart-shaped bottle.
The "There's Something About Mary" star married the musician in an intimate Beverly Hills ceremony on Jan. 5 after what the magazine dubbed a "whirlwind romance." Since then, the two have been "the picture of domesticity," People judged. They were spotted together at basketball games and while grocery shopping at Whole Foods. They even went on a number of double dates with Madden's twin brother, Joel, and his wife, Nicole Richie, one of which occurred on Feb. 14, according to the magazine.
"(Diaz) seemed excited to be celebrating her first Valentine's Day with Benji," an unnamed source said. "They had a fun, three-hour dinner with Nicole and her husband."
Other "insiders" told the magazine that they had never seen the 42-year-old actress so content.
"Since she started dating Benji, Cameron has changed in a very positive way," one of them said. "She can't stop smiling and seems much happier."
Los Angeles tattoo artist Dillon Eaves of Broken Art Tattoo, meanwhile, counseled lovebirds to be careful if they choose to follow Madden's lead. There are some steps ink lovers can take, however, to avoid problems in case romance does not work out, he told Entertainment Tonight.
It's best to avoid script as characters can be awkwardly shaped for a potential cover-up, and keeping it small may also help in the case of a need to retouch, Eaves explained. Lighter colors are a good choice because the only option for a cover-up will most likely be solid black ink, he added.
