The most-anticipated act to perform at the British Phonographic Industry's 2015 pop music awards was seven-time Grammy award-winning singer, Madonna.

Madonna, who had been rehearsing the bullfight-themed dance finale for weeks, fell off the O2 Arena stage during her performance of "Living For Love" at the 2015 Brit Awards in London, England Wednesday night.

The singer tumbled down stairs and suffered an awkward landing after a dancer tried to pull off an Armani cape that she was wearing as part of the dance routine. Not missing a beat, Madonna swiftly picked herself up and continued her performance; proving that no wardrobe malfunction can derail the pop Queen.

The incident sent Twitter users buzzing:

Elizabeth Windsor, a parody account of the U.K. queen with 1.23 million followers, posted a picture of the monarch wearing a royal cape.

"Dear Madonna. This is how to wear a cape without falling over. Regards, The Queen. #MadgeDown," the user tweeted.

@musiclovechaos tweeted, "When I saw Madonna's cape all I could think of was the Incredibles. Turns out Edna Mode was right. #BRITs2015"

The 56-year-old took to Instagram to discuss the fall.

"Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I'm fine! <3#livingfor love," the caption said.

"Nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up," refers to the lyrics of her song.

There was no gasp of shock from the 2015 Brit Awards audience when Madonna fell from the stage. Most of her fans and onlookers thought it was a well-orchestrated part of the choreography, especially since she fell singing the lyric "I let down my guard, I fell into your arms" and leaped back on stage singing "now that it's over, I'm going to carry on," according to the BBC.

Aside from Madonna's stellar performance, 13 Brit awards were given. Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith won two awards each.
