'Sharknado 3' Cast & News: Mark Cuban to Play US President, Ann Coulter Cast as Vice President in Next SyFy Movie
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has been cast in the role of U.S. President for the upcoming SyFy movie "Sharknado 3."
Deadline.com reports joining the outspoken Cuban for the movie and in the role of vice president will be conservative political commentator and author Ann Coulter. The movie is set to air on the network this summer.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, also slated to reprise their roles are veteran actors Ian Ziering and Tara Reid. Cameos are slated for the likes of actress Bo Derek, talk show host Jerry Springer and wrestling star Chris Jericho.
With the ever-talkative Cuban and Coulter cast, the movie will not want for dialogue. The 56-year-old "Shark Tank" star is among the NBA's loudest owners and has a history of league-imposed fines to prove it.
By this time last year, Cuban had been fined at least 20 different times, adding up to at least $1.9 million. Just before he officially retired from office last year, longtime commissioner David Stern saw fit to slap Cuban with a fine for $100,000 after he demonstratively confronted officials on the court after a 129-127 loss to the Western Conference rival L.A. Clippers, according to Sports Illustrated.
Meanwhile, 53-year-old Coulter seems to pride herself on being one of the Obama administration's most frequent and unabashed critics, according to Hollywood Reporter. She once infamously referred to the president as a "retard." In a tweet to her then 265,000 Twitter followers, she added: "if he's the smartest guy in the room, it must be one retarded room."
Once again, director Anthony C. Ferrante guide the production, which is based on an original screenplay by Thunder Levin. When it aired last July 30, "Sharknado 2: The Second One" became Syfy's most-watched original movie ever.
