American Music Awards 2013: Miley Cyrus Big Sister Brandi Steals the Spotlight
Oh...hello Brandi Cyrus. Look who rose popularity at the American Music Awards, none other than Miley Cyrus' big sis, Brandi, who photographers had a media frenzy over.
The 26-year old, step daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus (whom he adopted when he married her mother, Tish Cyrus) is a guitarist and blogger. She was at the American Music Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles, actually conducting red carpet interviews for Spin Media. It happens to be that this Cyrus is on the other side of the entertainment business, reporting the news on artists like her famous father and little sis. As Brandi carried on her job on Sunday, including interviewing her "wildly behaved" sister Miley Cyrus, all attention was turned on her. "The forgotten Cyrus" as she once called herself in a blog, was put in front of the cameras in her white dress and black and white strappy heels. She tweeted "this is so fun" as photographers yelled out her name; something everyone could tell Brandi is not used to.
Why did the media all of a sudden become so mesmerized by Brandi Cyrus? Well, she is shy, classy and poised; something that Miley Cyrus has done a good job of not being. While Miley has made it her mission to shake off her Hannah Montana image and prove to the world that she is a "bootylicious" young woman, Brandi just seems to keep to herself. Brandi and her brother Trace, are Tish's older kids from a previous marriage, after them, Tish had three more kids with their step father, Billy Ray. You can catch a good glimpse of the family's story on a 2007 television documentary called "The Real Miley Cyrus" where the world learns about where Miley came from and her family's trajectory to success. Brandi has always laid low, but can be seen in films like "Hannah Montana: The Movie", "What's Up" and "Old 37".
So what does this mean for the older Cyrus? Will she be making more T.V. appearances? Is Miley worried about her throne being stolen? Where will she be next? Guess we will have to wait and see.
