'Fashion Police' Cast & Controversy 2015: Khloe Kardashian Is Reportedly Interested in Filling Kelly Osbourne's Spot
People magazine has confirmed that Khloé Kardashian wants to join E!'s "Fashion Police" TV show as a co-host now that Kelly Osbourne has departed.
Osbourne quit the show following co-host Giuliana Rancic's offensive comment about Zendaya Coleman's dreadlocks at the Oscars. Rancic said the dreadlocks probably smelled like "patchouli oil...or maybe weed."
The outspoken Osbourne took to Twitter to express her outrage at the comment.
Rancic apologized for the comment, which Osbourne seemed to accept, but a source told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "Kelly left not from the [comment] itself, but because of how Giuliana and the network handled it."
On Feb. 27, E! announced that Osbourne was leaving the show "to pursue other opportunities."
A source told People that "Fashion Police" and Rancic would like to see the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star join the show's cast.
Kardashian, 30, may very well get the position since she has worked for the network previously. She was one of many television personalities that the network hired to cover E!'s red carpet show for the Oscars. Her fashion commentary at the Oscar pre-show was well received, except her fashion critique of Anna Kendrick's dress.
"I do think it's more daytime, wedding daytime ... like a beach wedding," Kardashian said about Kendrick's coral-colored dress. "I don't really think its Oscar color."
Fans weren't thrilled, and they let Kardashian know it on Twitter.
Kardashian also starred on E! News from 2013-14, in addition to "Kourtney & Khloé Take the Hamptons."
Osbourne, 30, launched the show that dissects celebrity fashion triumphs and blunders with Joan Rivers, George Kotsiopoulos and Rancic in 2010. "Fashion Police" returned for its fourth season in January, with Kathy Griffin replacing Rivers following her death.
E! said on Feb. 27 that no one has been chosen as Osbourne's replacement.
The show will return to its regular schedule on March 30 at 9 p.m.
