Avengers 2 Release Date, Cast & Spoilers: 5 Things You Need to Know About Sequel
The first Avengers movie pulled in more than $207 million in the U.S. on its opening weekend, peaking to an overall sale of $1.5 billion worldwide. Aside from the hoard of Marvel fans supporting the film, the success was also helped by a superstar line-up of casts and one of the best special effects seen in a very long time.
After the success of its superhero film series, Marvel Studios immediately pushed Avengers 2, Thor 2, Captain America 2 and Iron Man 3 into planning and production. A year and a half later, fans are waiting with bated breath for the second part of the Avengers series.
Avengers 2: Age of Ultron
The genius of the studio was to release the superhero movies one after the other, and finally bringing them together in the first Avengers movie. This generated immediate interest in the movie and raised the bar for the sequel. Not much is actually known about the storyline but we do have a few spoilers that are worth reading about.
Loki not a part of Avengers 2 - The ending of Thor 2 showed the capricious god ruling Asgard in the guise of Odin. It stands to reason that Loki might be busy ruling the throne having no time to meddle in Earth affairs. Tom Hiddleston who portrays Loki onscreen has confirmed these rumors, reports Screen Rant.
Main villain - The main villain of the Avengers 2 movie was hypothesized to be the Mad Titan called Thanos. However, it has now been confirmed that the main villain will be the indestructible, super intelligent robot Ultron played by James Spader.
New heroes - Aaron Taylor-Johnson & Elizabeth Olsen have also confirmed that they will be in the new movie. They will be playing siblings Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, notes Screen Rant in anotherr report.
Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige has also neither confirmed nor denied rumors but he has confirmed a tentative release date for the Avenger 2 movie somewhere in the middle of 2015. There are also strong rumors of an Avenger 3 and a Thor 3 to be coming up on 2016 and 2017.
