Fantasy Football Week 13 Pickups, Rosters, Start and Sit: Top Pickups and Free Agents of the Week
Fantasy football teams have become more difficult to manage ever since the NFL introduced Thursday night games, but this week it's even more important to get your roster set up early with the extra Thanksgiving Day games providing a full slate of action.
Week 13 will feature the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions in the early day Thanksgiving game before the Dallas Cowboys play host to the Oakland Raiders. The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to Baltimore for a divisional matchup to top off the night with the 8:30 p.m. game.
With Thanksgiving now just two days away, it's time to start looking at the best waiver wire pickups to consider before making that last leap of faith in the weeks leading up to the Fantasy Football playoffs. For many, this week will just mark the final week of the regular season in Fantasy Football, but for others it will be a tune up before the playoff rounds start next week.
Here are three players to look out for on the waiver wire heading into the final stretch of the season:
1. Michael Crabtree, WR - You probably will not be able to find Crabtree on the waiver wire in most keeper leagues as the star wide receiver was most likely stashed away on someone's roster. He was injured all season but could it looks like he will be making his return this week. He may not have been brought back so soon if it was not for the 49ers being in playoff contention. He could be a big part of the team's playoff run coming up.
2. Carson Palmer, QB - The veteran quarterback had things set up nicely in Cincinnati but he suffered a severe injury in the playoffs. Soon enough he ended up in Oakland, where he was unable to reach his potential. Now, however, Palmer is playing better than ever and last week's big win over the Colts gave him some real value going forward. He had 314 yards and two touchdowns in the victory and fantasy owners still have not totally noticed his progress, which gives you a great opportunity to try and grab him before it is too late.
3. John Carlson, TE - The Vikings tight end had a relatively quiet season until a few weeks ago when he tallied seven catches along with a touchdown. He followed that up with five-catch performance the next week and added three more last week. Those are the most catches he has had in a three-game stretch all season, making him a potential option for anyone who needs a tight end for the final week.
