On Thursday, March 4, Aaron Carter seemingly dissed his ex-girlfriend Hilary Duff on Twitter following her Cosmopolitan interview where she addressed Carter's online declarations of love, Us Weekly reports.

When asked to express how she feels about Carter's past attempts to win her back via social media, Duff replied, "[Aaron] reaching out through social media? It's ridiculous! But then people do it all the time, like Chris Brown and Karrueche? Come on, guys. Keep it between text messages."

Following her Cosmopolitan interview, Carter tweeted a seemingly angry message urging who many speculate to be Duff to keep his name out of her mouth.

Us Weekly claims that Carter's recent tweet is a shocking contrast to what the pop singer previously tweeted about Duff last year.

Back in March 2014, Carter tweeted that he would do everything in his power to win back Duff's love.

"I'll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don't care what ANY of you think," he wrote.

His declarations of love continued through the following months but later ended in September when he tweeted that he needed to "shut up" and allow Duff to live her life as a mother and married woman, according to Us Weekly.

"She's got a kid and she's married and I'm not trying to be that dude," he wrote. "That's not my intention."

Duff has since filed for divorce from her husband, Mike Comrie, but has not responded to any of Carter's romantic advances.

Duff filed for divorce last month after four years of marriage.

At the time, the Daily Mail reported that Duff was fed up after Comrie was spotted propositioning women at an exclusive restaurant in Beverly Hills.

TMZ sources added that Duff cited irreconcilable differences and fears that Comrie's partying and drinking might be detrimental to the upbringing of their son, Luca. Because of Duff's fear, she is filing for full custody of their son but has granted Comrie visitation rights.
